The Golden Yoke Creamery has been a dream many years in the making. In 2013, we received a Red Ants Pants Foundation grant that we used to send Connie to Penn State’s Ice Cream Shortcourse in January 2014 (yes, there really is ice cream school!). We used the rest of 2014 to develop our business plan and make lots and lots of test batches. By 2015, we had a solid plan and a unique ice cream recipe — we were ready to approach funders. In the spring of 2015, we received business loans and a Montana Growth through Agriculture grant and quickly got to work renovating our building, buying equipment, and testing even more ice cream.
Our ice cream is different than any other you will find in Montana, and that’s the way we like it. Made with simple ingredients sourced from Montana and Pacific Northwest farmers, it is ice cream you can feel good about eating. And we make everything right in our creamery where you can see the whole process from milk to frozen goodness. Simple. Frozen. Joy. The Golden Yoke is Montana ice cream at its finest.
